Do I have to become a member to participate in TREC?

You do not need to be a member to take part, temporary membership (including insurance cover) is available for each event. Our insurance covers fully our activities and indemnifies the landowners who give us permission to ride through their lands.

If you are new to TREC, there are many ways to get started. Contact your local group (click here to see where the different TREC groups in Ireland are based) or visit our calendar for details of upcoming events. 

There are advantages to becoming a member if you want to become a regular participant, and the different membership options that are available are explained below:

West Cork TREC Membership

Anyone can become a member of West Cork TREC, and as a member you will be added to our mailing list, which will ensure you get notifications of upcoming events and training days, and our members may purchase our tshirts and jackets with our logo printed on them.

You do not have to be a member of West Cork TREC to participate in our training days or in our competitions.  Everyone is welcome to come along and have a go.  However, only members will be allocated points in our Winter and Summer League tables.

​Volunteers are always an important cog in the machine, and during competitions there are always plenty of jobs to do.  Anyone interested in the multitude of skills needed when training for and hosting competitions locally, nationally & internationally is encouraged to take part & to learn. So please, SIGN UP and come along.

TREC Ireland Membership

TREC Ireland membership covers your insurance for all TREC Ireland and TREC Ireland affiliated Group events. It also gives you a 20% discount off entrance fees at all the TREC Ireland competitions and training sessions, such as the National Championships or Judges Training. Membership is a requirement for anyone who wishes to enter the national competitions, eg Opens, Nationals and MA/PTV Championships.  Please note, if you have paid a membership fee to one of the local affiliated groups (eg West Cork TREC, Leinster TREC etc) you may be given a discount off the TREC Ireland membership fee (amount depends on type of membership sought).
