The West Cork TREC Midsummer event this year was a one day three phase event hosted by Lee Valley Equestrian Centre near Crookstown, Co. Cork. The weather was thankfully dry until the last half an hour when we had some rain during the prize giving.
Traceurs Adele Connor and Ian Squire took the riders on routes along the little back country roads around the Equestrian Centre, and the higher levels also had some nice off-road riding through a couple of farm tracks, woods and fields courtesy of the neighbouring landowners. Chef de Piste Annie O'Neill put some of the cross country jumps in the top paddocks to good use in her PTV course. We would like to thank the following people:
Our Level 2a route was also classified as a GB Qualifier for the TREC GB Championships 2017. Five young riders have qualified for TREC GB as a result and they will be travelling to Wales in September. Lorea O'Sullivan, Kate Ryan Brouwer and Millie O'Sullivan will compete in the Level 2a Individuals class, while Caoimhe Duggan and Kate Sheehan will compete in the Level 2a Pairs class.
